Peace in the Midst of Change

“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” — Isaiah 26:3
Change has a way of unsettling even the strongest hearts. Sometimes it arrives as a gift — a new opportunity, a fresh start, a long‑prayed‑for shift. Other times it comes without warning, knocking the breath out of us and rearranging life in ways we never asked for. But whether change is welcomed or thrust upon us, it carries a weight that can stir stress, uncertainty, and a quiet fear of the unknown.
Isaiah 26:3 offers a promise tailor‑made for seasons like these. God keeps us in perfect peace — not by removing the change, but by steadying our minds as we trust Him. A steadfast mind doesn’t mean we never feel anxious. It means we know where to look when everything around us is moving.

I’m reminded of this every time I work on my physical balance. Pursuing a healthy lifestyle is a priority of mine — exercising my mind, body, and spirit. But balance work is one of the most humbling parts of that journey. Whether I’m lifting one leg or leaning forward into an awkward position, it doesn’t take much for me to be tossed off my center line. I wobble. I overcorrect. I lose my footing. Over time, I learned something important: the key to staying steady is fixing my eyes on a single, unmoving point of reference. When my gaze is anchored, my body follows. When my focus drifts, so does my balance.
Life works the same way. Change can tilt us, stretch us, and throw us off center. But when our minds are fixed on God — the One who never shifts, never wavers, never changes — we find a steadiness that doesn’t come from us. Peace rises not because the circumstances are stable, but because He is.
God’s peace isn’t found in understanding the change. It’s found in trusting the One who stands steady in the middle of it. He is constant when everything else feels uncertain. He is faithful when the path ahead is unclear. He is the fixed point that keeps us from falling.
Perfect peace doesn’t come from having a predictable life. It comes from having a dependable God.
Whatever change you’re facing — whether it excites you, scares you, or leaves you somewhere in between — you don’t walk into it alone. Fix your mind on Him. Trust His heart. Let His unchanging presence hold you steady. He will keep you in perfect peace.
Time to Reflect

There is no peace like the peace Jesus gives! I have faced some major life changes, and I can testify to God's goodness and peace that kept me grounded because He cares. Sitting with Jesus and pausing really helped me get through those hard days and weeks that was a hard season for me. In the middle of it all, He never let go of me! Thankful that I am in a better place now.
